Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
I now work from two salons - one in Kemptown and one in Hove. You can choose whichever location is most convenient when booking your appointment.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book online through my website which will link you to my email, or call/text to arrange your dog’s appointment. Appointments fill up quickly, especially on the run-up to Christmas, so it’s best to book in advance.
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes! New clients are always welcome. Whether your dog needs a full groom, a bath and tidy, or an Emmi-Pet ultrasonic teeth clean, I’m happy to help.
What services do you offer?
I provide a range of professional grooming services, including:
Full dog grooms (all coat types and breeds)
Bath, brush & tidy sessions
Puppy grooms
Nail trims
Emmi-Pet ultrasonic teeth cleaning & standard teeth clean
How much does grooming cost?
Prices vary depending on your dog’s coat type, size, and breed.
You can view the full price list on the Pricing page of my website.
All prices are from amounts and include a full health and coat check.
Matted coats and difficult behaviour will incur additional fees, as these appointments can take longer, and matting can blunt tools.
How long does a groom take?
Most appointments take 1.5 hours for small or short-haired breeds and up to 2 hours for long-haired or curly breeds, but this can vary depending on your dog’s size, breed, and coat condition.
Large breeds or dogs with dense coats may take longer. I’ll always give you an estimated collection time when you drop your pet off.
The longer you want to keep your dog’s coat, the more time and effort is required during grooming. Matted coats also take longer to groom than coats that are maintained regularly at home.
I never want to rush an appointment, my goal is always to provide calm, high-quality care for every dog.
Do you groom nervous or reactive dogs?
Yes – I can accommodate some nervous or mildly reactive dogs, but please let me know before booking so I can assess suitability and schedule extra time if needed. My goal is to make grooming a calm and positive experience for every dog.
What should I do before my dog’s appointment?
Please make sure your dog has had a toilet break and isn’t too full after eating. Bring them on a secure lead, and let me know of any health issues, allergies, or behavioural quirks.
Do you offer puppy grooms?
Absolutely! I recommend starting puppy grooms from around 12–16 weeks, once they’ve had all their vaccinations. Early positive grooming experiences make future visits stress-free.
Can I stay during my dog’s groom?
Most dogs settle better when their owners aren’t present, so I usually ask owners to drop off and collect afterwards. However, if your dog is particularly anxious, we can discuss what’s best for them.
Do you offer Emmi-Pet ultrasonic teeth cleaning?
Yes, I’m trained in Emmi-Pet ultrasonic dental cleaning, a gentle, non-invasive method to reduce plaque and maintain oral hygiene, perfect for dogs who don’t tolerate traditional brushing.
When should I book my next appointment?
Most dogs benefit from grooming every 6–8 weeks, depending on their coat type and lifestyle. Regular grooming helps keep the coat healthy and prevents matting.
